The Carmarthenshire Blind Society has been in existence since 1860 and is the oldest Visual Impaired Society in Wales, something we are very proud of, and is the umbrella parent body which embraces the three constituent areas of the County, they being Llanelli, Carmarthen and the Amman Valley. Each area can by constitution raise their own funds and allocate these funds as they wish within the rules laid down in the constitution of the Society.
Each area has their own independent committee structure: the Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and committee are required to nominate seven members to the County Executive Committee to oversee the County Structure, and to ensure that the constitution is being adhered too.
The Executive Committee consisting of twenty one members, seven from each area, also has a similar system, i.e. Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.
