`
Llanelli Blind Society provides a full and varied service to our Visually Impaired friends across the whole area of Llanelli. These services have been fully described in our earlier pages, however, in summary they cover welfare, Christmas gifts, annual outing X ( 2/3 ) Regular Teas/Concerts, Christmas Dinners and show , along with financial assistance when necessary, for help with the provision of Visual Aids to increase the independence of our members.

At the Stepney Centre we have provided a fully fitted resource centre, the centre is fully equipped with a wheel chair lift, Large Disabled toilet facilities, Audio guidance to assist the Visually Impaired has they move around the entire building including the toilet areas, and also an Inductive loop system for those who suffer with Deafness as well as Blindness.

We also purchase Visual Aids at discount prices and sell these aids on at cost value and provide assistance from our funds by way of grant funding to make the cost of purchasing the latest technology at the lowest price possible, in addition we also assist with accessing other grants from outside sources.

We are also assisted by the Social Services Department for the Visually Impaired of Carmarthenshire County Council to provide a complete Rehabilitation service to our Visually Impaired friends, this service embraces assistance with applying for Benefits, demonstration of Visual Aids and kitchen skills, all of which are necessary to fully improve the welfare and lives of our Visually Impaired friends

We at Llanelli Blind Society value this assistance with the Carmarthenshire County Council - Social Service Department for the Blind. Though it is not a financial partnership, it has proved to be invaluable in many aspects and we hope this partnership will continue well into the future. To provide the best service possible to the Visually Impaired.
